About the work
My most recent publication is Mariscat Sampler One, from the award-winning Mariscat Press, which showcases nine of my poems alongside work from Peter Kenny and Marilyn Ricci.
My debut pamphlet, Only by Flying, was published by HappenStance Press in 2015 and shortlisted for the Callum Macdonald Memorial Award. Two further pamphlets have been shortlisted or commended in the Coast to Coast to Coast Individual Poet Journals Competition (2021 and 2024).
Places I have read, solo or alongside friends, include:
Bodmin Moor Poetry Festival
Exeter Literary Festival & Exeter Poetry Festival
Fire River Poets, Taunton
Ledbury Poetry Festival, Herefordshire
National Library of Scotland, Edinburgh
Scottish Gliding Centre, Portmoak
Uncut Poets, Exeter
Words & Ears, Wiltshire
Places where my poems have been published include (in print): Magma, The Broadsheet, The North, 14 Magazine, and The Rialto; and (online) Anthropocene, Ink, Sweat & Tears, The Friday Poem and Wild Court. They have also featured in various anthologies, including: Blame Montezuma; Coming & Going; and How (not) to Get Your Poetry Published (HappenStance Press); and Thin Places & Sacred Spaces (Amethyst Press). The poem That angel hovering was a joint winner of the Manchester Cathedral 600 Poetry Competition.
In 2024, I wrote about my choice of ‘desert island’ poems for The Friday Poem’s Castaway Companions series here.
